I've waited my whole life and finally I've found....

...my prince charming! yes, that is right, this christmas Santa finally brought me what every girl dreams of there whole entire life, and I woke up only to find my prince charming waiting for me. One could only imagine the excitement and joy to find that their quest to find their prince charming had finally been put to an end, now I must admit my prince charming did not look much like a prince at first, he was actually disguised as a.....

Frog
But the best part was that (now I know what you are thinking but it did not happen) I did not have to lose my VL. That is right I did not even have to kiss a frog for him to become a prince. However, I did have to put in effort for his transition into a prince. I had to add a bit of water, and then patiently wait for 72 hours, for him to be a full grown
prince
So I know that you can't tell how handsome this prince is from the picture, but that might be partly because he is not fully grown, he still has another 17 hourss until it has been the full 72 hours, but the point is, my prince charming is finally here!

I'm a survivor!

That's right! I did it! I lived through the fall 2009 semester at Utah State University! I also did pretty well... I think! I only have 2 known grades which are A-'s! Woohoo! Now the rest of my grades I will wait... and wait... and wait.... patiently for the results. Anyway I was proud of myself for making it through this semester! At times it was a real challenge! No worries though I came out of this semester being able to:
give first aid
be a pro at editing papers and any grammar important things
teach children physical education
teach children music
guide children
and tell some great stories!
or at least those were the things I was supposed to learn.

Now... I will not have to endure another painful final week for a whole year being as I will not be attending school next semester and opting for a crazy excursion to Russia! It will be soo fun to go teach english to children!! but... no worries Utah State and Logan, I will make an appearance once more in August to finish up my last 3 semesters of college! I feel some exciting things coming up in my life and I feel so relieved right now as well!

7 Things

The 7 things I hate the most.... about my alarm.

Yes My alram tune is actaully currently the song "7 Things" by Miley Cyrus. Yes that's right a song by Miley Cyrus and the ironic thing is she bugs me and I hate her voice it just sounds like she has a retainer in and it's annoying. Not that everyone who has to wear a retainer is annoying. no, it's just her. However although I dislike her and many things about her I Can't help but love some of her songs like "The Climb" and "'7 Things". I just wish someone else sang these songs Anyway my post is not about Miley Cyrus. It's about her song and the irony of it being my alarm clock.

So her song is about the 7 things she hates about this boy in her life. Everytime my alarm goes off and I hear Miley singing the "7 things" I can't help to think while she is singing about a guy I am thinking about the 7 things I hate about my alarm so with that being said...

1. Sometimes a good dream is disrupted

2. I have to wake up and I am still tired

3. I have to go to school

4. I have to leave my nice warm bed and go out to the starting to get cold weather

5. I have to walk up the hill up to campus

6. I have to get ready

7. And the 7th thing I hate the most about my alarm is that I don't want to get out of bed but.. I have to unless I want to fail at life and school.

The only thing is I'm sure that the list does not end at 7. However at the end of the song she says the 7 things she like so maybe I should try that, but I don't know if I could find 7 things I like about my alarm. I mean honestly, who could?

It's about Time!!

So I was just realizing it's been a crazy long time since I last posted. I have been soo crazy busy lately it is not even funny! So what has been happening in my life? well I will tell you

1. I finished up living in old farm for the summer and moved home for a few days until I could move into my new apartment at Continental ( which is pretty good, my roommates are cool and our apartment is pretty nice, but the apartment is horrible, I thought old farm parking was bad, but it's not!)

2. I Started school a few days after moving into my new apartment. This has been pretty enjoyable because my classes actually mean something to me, I don't feel like I am wasting my time, but it is a lot of work, and observations and lesson plans and such.

3. One of my roommates from the past 2 years plus I went to high school with her, left a few days after school started to China, with Sadie another friend. They went to teach english to kids, I'll be doing the same thing in Ukraine next semester. They seem to be having a good time. She gets back 4 days after christmas

4. The end of my first week of school Brooke (another one of my old roommates for the past 2 years) headed back home to North Dakota, until she left on her mission.

5. So between homework and working and school, I had a few important people leave on missions.

One missionary was my little brother (he would disagree with me because he's taller than me) He left on September 23rd to head to the Philippines Cebu mission speaking cebuano. He is currently in the Provo MTC. So I was at home a lot lately spending time with him and hearing his talk at church and watching him get set apart. I didn't go to the MTC though since it is curb-side drop-off. So far from what he has said, he is doing pretty good with just a few rough days.

Another missionary was my friend from high school and my room roommate for the past 2 years at college. Her name is Jennie Adams. She like my brother Troy is also going to the Philippines, and entered the provo MTC on September 23rd as well. Only she is going to the Bacolod mission and speaking Tagolog. I think she is also doing well.

The last missionary I know was also my roommate for the past 2 years and left to the provo MTC on September 23rd as well. Her name is Brooke Deem and she is actually going to the Argentina Mendoza mission. She will be speaking Spanish. I don't know how she is doing though.

I know all these missionaries will be amazing! I hope they all do okay while they are away from home.

So this is what I have been up to recently it is great fun, and time is just speeding by like crazy! Hopefully I'll be better with updates from now on.

Hiking: The camera destroyer!

Most of the group on the hike

Gorgeous View!

The place where my camera was destroyed!
That pink backpack is mine, Adam was nice
enough to carry it for me!

So in my ward for the summer I got the calling of FHE coordinator, it's fun but surprisingly hard to come up with activities. Anyway I finally got this beyond brilliant idea to go hiking for FHE. I asked someone where a good place to hike was and she told me, although I had been there. We met at my apartment and took 4 cars to drive up. So this was a good plan so far.

It all started not so well when only 3 of the 4 cars actually ended up in the same place, so we waited to see if the 4th car would ever show up, but they didn't, so we went on without them. The hike itself was very gorgeous! We had a lot of fun together as well, especially when the boys decided to knock all the trees over. It was hillarious!

However the part where they tipped the trees over, was also the worst part! You see there was this huge rock that some of us were standing on. I was taking pictures, then I decided I was done and started putting it back in my back pack, but then I dropped it, but I was sure it would be fine. I didn't take it out the rest of the hike.

Then on the way back down I was in the end with some people so finally we made it to the end expecting everyone to be waiting for us. But there was no one. Everyone else missed the path to go back down, but eventually they all made it back.

We then headed home expecting the people in last car to be back, but... they weren't so we all sat outside calling them at least every 5 minutes, none of us could reach them. We were worried! Finally we decided to go drive back into the canyon, to find them, but on our way back we got through to them. They were all fine and went on there own hike to the path we were supposed to go to. It was a relief.

Then today I decided to look at the pictures I had taken, when I turned it on the screen was completely white with the exception of a dark spot. I was really sad to find that drop at the canyon had been so severe, to my camera but then I took a picture to see if it still took pictures and uploaded all the pictures to my computer and luckily they all came.

So I'm not at a total loss, I can still take pictures I just can't see what they look like until there on my computer, I guess I should be grateful for that. But I'm really sad because my camera was Really nice!

Moral of the story be extremely careful if you take a camera hiking, otherwise the hike will kill your camera.

ASL+online+summer = no fun!

Ok well my title to this blog should be a dead give away to what this blog is about. It is about taking sign language online during the summer. That is definitely not my idea of fun.

Anyway so a long time ago I decided I would go to summer school this summer to lessen my load during the school year. So I decided I would take about 2 classes this summer. So I was going to take a week long music workshop class, but that might even fall through due to my procrastination. I also decided to take sign language 1. So I registered for it and it was going to be real 4 week class on campus. However a few days after registering I got an email from the professor saying due to budget cuts the class would only be offered online during the summer. So I thought it's only 4 weeks, how bad can it really be? Well to answer that question, it is really hard. But on the bright side I'm just about finished with week 1 meaning I only have to endure it for 3 more weeks, that is if I make it out alive.

Oh also another frustrating thing is since it is online. I have no reason to be up here in Logan. I could have went home and saved money, and worked somewhere other than a grocery store at least for the summer so I could have variety in my life. Oh well I'm sure it will be fun anyway.

Biology!

Well as you may have noticed. I have not blogged in a while. this is mainly due to the fact that school has taken over all or at least most of my free time. Now school is not quite over yet, but I'm really close. I only have 2 more finals. I will be completely finished with the semester in just 2 days, less than 48 hours. Now the question is, why do I now have time to blog if I'm going through the most intense week of the semester right now. Well I suppose I will tell you now.

This semester has been pretty tough for me especially since last semester I hardly had to study and work for good grades. But I had to take biology which was the only class I had left to take before I could apply to my major. The only problem is biology and I are not friends. I'd say that was my toughest class this semester. I had already taken biology before and I basically failed. I didn't get an F though.

After 2 failed tests in biology this semester, I thought that there was no way I was going to pass the class and I would have to try a 3rd time. But then I really got my butt into gear and did significantly better on my third test, and I studied like crazy all week this week and took the final for the class today. After I took it I was worried and didn't know if I did well enough. Then later I checked my email to see the results were waiting there in my inbox. I didn't want to open it for fear of a low score so I navigated away to another site. A little while later I couldn't take it anymore. I had to know. So I opened my results to see that..... I got a good enough grade on my final to PASS the class. That's right I'M THROUGH WITH BIOLOGY!!! I was soo excited and relieved that I had to blog about it and I couldn't study for my other tests upcoming.

The moral of this story is never give up, or lose hope because you can succeed!

Now I'm off to study for my remaining tests which wont be as hard, and then I can celebrate!

Spring Break!

So it was spring break this week, and I regret to inform that it was yet again another lame one! Just the same as last year, well not just the same, I did a few monumental things this break, or not you decide.

First off on Saturday I was chilling at work and I was on break, when my phone started ringing and it was my mother, she called to tell me that my little brother Troy was giving a talk in his singles ward sacrament meeting the next day. Sacrament was at 9 for him and it was also daylight savings time so in a way it was really 8:00. I decided since I was going to go home anyway, that I would go hear him speak, but the question was if I went home late after work on saturday or really early sunday morning. I chose to go home on Saturday, I had all my stuff together and was on the road by 11:30 p.m. and arrived safely at my house at 12:30 a.m. It was great. Anyway and my brother did an awesome job on his talk!

Then on Monday I had the opportunity to go all the way inside a temple for the second time in my life, I went to the Draper temple open house with my roommates, Jennie, Maddie, Nicole, and Brooke, and our friends Nathan and Spencer. The temple was absolutely gorgeous and amazing I'm glad that I went. That evening I went with my parents and Troy to a musical in Salt Lake it was called My School Musical, it was a spoof on high school musical and it was hillarious! We also rode the frontrunner which was way fun!

On Tuesday, my brother-in-law Jon was kind enough to take me to a shooting range so I could practice shooting because I have to take Hunters safety for a class next week. I also haven't really shot before so I needed to learn. I thought shooting was pretty fun, then the rest of the day and wednesday as well I didn't really do anyhing but I did work on a 1,000 piece puzzle, it was pretty fun!

Then on Thursday I came back to Logan so I could work the rest of the week, and that was basically my spring break! So I guess it wasn't too shabby!

Missionaries!

well somehow half this original entry got deleted I'm pretty upset, oh well it was a lame entry anyway.

Another huge bonus of people that I know choosing to go on missions, is that I get mail. If there were no missionaries I would never get mail besides lame bank statements and other sorts of things that isn't a real, personal letter. Anyway currently I am actively receiving letters from 4 different missionaries, but only 2 of them do I actually personally know. The other 2 are missionaries that I learned about getting no mail ever so I decided to write them once, and yet they are still writing me back, It's cool, because they both seem really cool, and I don't know why other people, who actually know these missionaries. But 3 of the 4 missionaries will be going home by October, so then I will be writing only 1 missionary till June of 2010. But it's ok, because secretly he's my favorite missionary to get letters from anyway. Even though he is the last one to get back. However, that's why patience is a virtue.

Anyway so yup, missionaries are awesome!

Macey's

It all started on May 30, 2006. On that day my life would never be the same. Yes, that was the day that I was hired as an employee at the one and only Clearfield Maceys food and drug store. I have worked at a maceys ever since that day. So I have worked their for more than 2 and a 1/2 years now. I never knew that I would be an employee of a grocery store for so long. However, I now work at a maceys far larger and far better than the clearfield Maceys. I am talking about the Providence Maceys which is only about 2 years old. It really is an exquisite grocery store.

But working at a grocery store does have its drawbacks, I know that this is hard to believe, but it does. Some of these drawbacks include working until midnight on occasion, and also working with ornery or annoying guests. It's okay to have a bad day every once in a while. But please don't show it when your checking out at the grocery store. It affects us cashiers. We some times end up getting ornery or even feel bad when we shouldn't feel bad that you are ornery. Also I hate it when people tell me how to bag their groceries, I have been trained, I know what I am doing. These along with countless other reasons are why working at a grocery store can be a drawback, not to mention the pay.

On the bright side, working at a grocery store does have it's perks. One is that you get to meet and work with a lot of really cool and humorous people. Some of these people I have worked with in the past have turned out to become really close friends. Also late at night when hardly anyone is in the store you get to make up and play crazy weird games and even have random dance parties to the horrble music they play over the Intercom. But the best part of all, only comes to employees who are cashiers. I get paid to check people out all day long! I bet your all jealous now!
